Watsontown Borough is one of the borough of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 2255. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2102, It is the 578th largest by population in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The borough has a total area of 0.94 miē (2.43 kmē), of which, 0.71 square miles (1.84 kmē) of it is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 kmē) of it is water, making it Pennsylvania's 756th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2255 people in the borough, organized into 967 households, and 592 families living in the borough. The population density was 3161.9 people per square mile (1220.82/kmē), it is 362nd most densely populated borough in Pennsylvania. There were 1017 housing units at an average density of 1432.4 per square mile (553.05/kmē). The average household size was 2.21 persons, and the average family size was 2.81 persons. In the borough Age distribution was 21.1% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65 or older. The median age was 40.9 years, the median age of male residents at 40.1 and the median age of female residents at 41.8. The racial makeup of the borough was 98.67% White, 0.4% Black or African American, 0.18% American Indian, 0.13% Asian, 0.13% Native Hawaiian, 0.4% from two or more races and 0.09% Other races.
