Waterloo City is a city located in Monroe County, Illinois, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 7614. The July 2008 population estimate is 9813, It is Illinois's 245th largest by population . The city spans an area of 5.62 sq mi (14.56 sq km), of which, 5.57 square miles (14.43 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, it is the 190th largest in terms of geographical size.
