According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Water Valley City is home to 3677 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 3951, It is the 81st most populous in the U.S. state of Mississippi. It covers total area of 7.03 square miles (18.21 kmē), making it the 88th largest by size in Mississippi.
