Watchung Borough is one of the borough of Somerset County, New Jersey, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Watchung Borough is home to 5613 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6502, It is the 268th largest in terms of population. It has total area of 6.03 sq mi (15.62 square kilometre), of which, 6.02 square miles (15.59 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 87th largest by total area among New Jersey.
