Washougal City is a city located in Clark County, Washington, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 8595. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 13509, making it Washington's 116th largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.03 mi˛ (13.03 sq km), of which, 4.96 square miles (12.85 sq km) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 sq km) of it is water, it is the 188th largest by area in the U.S. state of Washington.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 8595 people, 3294 households, and 2324 families living in the city. The population density was 1734.5 people per square mile (669.69/km˛), making its Washington's 154th most densely populated city. There were 3463 housing units at an average density of 698.2 per square mile (269.58/km˛). The average household size was 2.61 persons, and the average family size was 3.05 persons. In the city Age distribution was 29.8% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. The median age of the city's population was 33.9 years, the median age of male residents at 32.9 and the median age of female residents at 35.1. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 8082 White, 37 Black or African American, 108 American Indian, 67 Asian, 10 Native Hawaiian, 220 from two or more races and 71 Ohter races.
