Washita County is a county in the United States of Oklahoma. The county has a population of 11508 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 11709 in July 2008, giving it the 24th smallest population among Oklahoma's county. The county comprises an area of 1009.07 square miles (2613.48 sq km), of which, 1003.35 square miles (2598.66 sq km) of it is land and 5.73 square miles (14.84 sq km) of it is water, it is the 19th largest by area in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.

The population density was 11.5 people per square mile (4.44/kmē), making it the 19th least densely populated county in Oklahoma. There were 5452 housing units at an average density of 5.4 per square mile (2.08/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.5 persons, and the average family size was 3 persons. In the Washita County, 26.3% of the population was under the age of 18, 7.6% were 18 to 24, 25.2% were 25 to 44, 22.2% were 45 to 64, and 18.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.2 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 11709, The racial makeup of the county was 10882 White, 133 Black or African American, 436 American Indian, 31 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 224 from two or more races.
