Washington County is a United States county located in the United States of Utah. In 2000, the population was 90354. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 137589, making it the fifth most populous county in Utah. The county has a total area of 2429.91 square miles (6293.44 kmē), of which, 2426.62 square miles (6284.92 kmē) of it is land and 3.28 square miles (8.5 kmē) of it is water, making it the 15th largest by size in Utah.

As of the census of 2000, there were 90354 people in the county, organized into 29939 households, and 23429 families residing in the county. The population density was 37.2 people per square mile (14.36/kmē), it would be the sixth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Utah. There were 36478 housing units at an average density of 15 per square mile (5.79/kmē). The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.36. In the county the population was spread out, with 31.2% under the age of 18, 11.6% from 18 to 24, 22.4% from 25 to 44, 17.8% from 45 to 64, and 17% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 102.8 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 137589, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 130916 White, 1025 Black or African American, 1867 American Indian, 1107 Asian, 693 Native Hawaiian, and 1981 from two or more races.
