Washington County, Pennsylvania is a county of the United States of Pennsylvania. It is home to over 202897 people (2000 census). In July 2008, its estimated population was 206407, giving it the 18th largest population among Pennsylvania's county. The county has a total area of 860.95 mi˛ (2229.85 sq km), of which, 857.09 square miles (2219.85 sq km) of it is land and 3.86 square miles (10 sq km) of it is water, making it Pennsylvania's 20th largest county by total area.

The population density was 236.7 people per square mile (91.39/km˛), making its Pennsylvania's 22nd most densely populated county. There were 87267 housing units at an average density of 101.8 per square mile (39.31/km˛). The average household size was 2.44 people, and the average family size was 2.96 people. In the county Age distribution was 22.2% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 25% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89 males. Its population was estimated at 206407 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 94.88% White, 3.4% Black or African American, 0.1% American Indian, 0.58% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.01% from two or more races.
