Washington County is a county located in the United States of Oklahoma. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Washington County is home to 48996 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 50452, It is the 14th largest in terms of population. The county extends throughout a territory of 424.15 mi˛ (1098.54 square kilometre ), of which, 416.82 square miles (1079.56 square kilometre) of it is land and 7.34 square miles (19.01 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Oklahoma's smallest county by total area.

The population density was 117.5 people per square mile (45.37/km˛), it would be the fourth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. There were 22250 housing units at an average density of 53.4 per square mile (20.62/km˛). The average household size was 2.4 persons, and the average family size was 2.91 persons. In the county Age distribution was 25% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 25% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.7 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 50452, The racial makeup of the county was 81.24% White, 2.78% Black or African American, 8.96% American Indian, 0.96% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 6.04% from two or more races.
