Washington County is a United States county located in the United States of Kansas. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 6483 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 5791 in July 2008, It is the 63rd largest county by population in the U.S. state of Kansas. Its area is just over 898.84 sq mi (2327.98 kmē), of which, 898.46 square miles (2327 kmē) of it is land and 0.38 square miles (0.98 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 29th largest by total area among Kansas's county.
