Washington City is a city in the Beaufort County, North Carolina, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Washington City is home to 9583 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 10112, making it the 71st most populous in North Carolina. The city comprises an area of 6.83 sq mi (17.69 kmē), of which, 6.5 square miles (16.83 kmē) of it is land and 0.33 square miles (0.85 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 118th largest by total area in North Carolina.
