Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 23775, It is 23rd most populous county in Oregon. Its area is just over 2395.32 miē (6203.85 kmē), of which, 2381.05 square miles (6166.89 kmē) of it is land and 14.28 square miles (36.99 kmē) of it is water, it is the 14th largest by area in the U.S. state of Oregon.
