Warren County is a United States county located in the United States of Virginia. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 31584 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 36663, It is the 45th most populous county in the U.S. state of Virginia. The county extends throughout a territory of 216.32 mi˛ (560.27 square kilometre ), of which, 213.7 square miles (553.48 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.63 square miles (6.81 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Virginia's 90th largest county by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 31584 people, 12087 households, and 8526 families living in the county. The population density was 147.8 people per square mile (57.07/km˛), making it the 56th most densely populated county in Virginia. There were 13299 housing units at an average density of 62.2 per square mile (24.02/km˛). The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.04. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.6% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 36663, The racial makeup of the county was 92.09% White, 5.25% Black or African American, 0.28% American Indian, 0.85% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.51% from two or more races.
