It has total area of 618.76 mi˛ (1602.58 sq km), of which, 586.61 square miles (1519.31 sq km) of it is land and 32.15 square miles (83.27 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 32nd largest by total area in Mississippi. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Mississippi.
