Walton City, Boone and Kenton counties, Kentucky is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. Walton City had an official population of 2450 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3038, It is the 146th most populous in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The city has a total area of 3.51 mi˛ (9.09 square kilometre), of which, 3.49 square miles (9.04 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 121st largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2450 people in the city, organized into 913 households, and 666 families living in the city. The population density was 701.4 people per square mile (270.81/km˛), it is 134th least densely populated city in Kentucky. There were 992 housing units at an average density of 284.2 per square mile (109.73/km˛). The average household size was 2.67 people, and the average family size was 3.15 people. In the city the population was spread out, with 29.7% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 17.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 110.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 117.8 females. The median age of the city's population was 32.9 years, the median age of male residents at 31.6 and the median age of female residents at 33.9. The racial makeup of the city was 97.35% White, 0.94% Black or African American, 0.2% American Indian, 0.69% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.78% from two or more races and 0.04% Other races.
