Waltham City is a United States city located in the Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population of the city was 59226 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 60236, making it the 15th most populous in Massachusetts. The city extends throughout a territory of 13.61 miē (35.25 kmē ), of which, 12.7 square miles (32.89 kmē) of it is land and 0.91 square miles (2.36 kmē) of it is water, it is the 41st largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 59226 people in the city, organized into 23207 households, and 12455 families living in the city.
