Wallowa County, Oregon is a county located in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Wallowa County is home to 7226 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6760, It is the fifth smallest in terms of population. The county has a total area of 3151.69 square miles (8162.84 square kilometre), of which, 3145.34 square miles (8146.39 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.36 square miles (16.47 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the ninth largest by total area among Oregon's county.

For every 100 females there were 100.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.1 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 6760, The racial makeup of the county was 97.28% White, 0.06% Black or African American, 0.86% American Indian, 0.3% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.46% from two or more races.
