As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 23722, It is the 63rd most populous in the U.S. state of Michigan. Its area is just over 25.43 miē (65.86 kmē), of which, 25.16 square miles (65.16 kmē) of it is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 kmē) of it is water, making it Michigan's 25th largest by total area.
