Wakefield Town is one of the town of Sussex County, Virginia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 1038. Its population was estimated at 965 in July 2008, It is the 248th largest by population in the U.S. state of Virginia. The town extends throughout a territory of 1.29 miē (3.34 kmē ), of which, 1.25 square miles (3.24 kmē) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmē) of it is water, it is the 109th smallest in terms of geographical size.
