Wakefield City is a United States city located in the Dixon and Wayne counties, Nebraska, United States. In 2000, the population was 1411. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 1356, making it the 81st most populous in Nebraska. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.81 sq km), it is the 143rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Nebraska.
