Waikapu Cdp is a United States census designated place located in the Maui County, Hawaii, United States. In 2000, the population was 1115. It is the 30th smallest in terms of population. It is spread over 11 square miles (28.49 kmē), of which, 10.98 square miles (28.44 kmē ) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 kmē) of it is water, it is the 24th largest by area in the U.S. state of Hawaii.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1115 residents, 347 households, and 274 families in the census designated place. The population density was 101.6 people per square mile (39.23/kmē), giving it the 12th least densely populated census designated place among the Hawaii. There were 360 housing units at an average density of 32.8 per square mile (12.66/kmē). The average household size was 3.21 persons, and the average family size was 3.57 persons.
