It is the 20th largest by population in the U.S. state of Hawaii. Its area is just over 5.1 sq mi (13.21 kmē), of which, 3.4 square miles (8.81 kmē) of it is land and 1.69 square miles (4.38 kmē) of it is water, making it the 53rd largest by size in Hawaii. It is ranks 19 in the size of its inland waterways in Hawaii.
