It is the 53rd most populous in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It is spread over 1.44 square miles (3.73 sq km), of which, 1.25 square miles (3.24 sq km ) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, it is the 33rd smallest by area in the U.S. state of Hawaii.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3761 people, 1128 households, and 882 families living in the census designated place.
