Wagoner County is one of the 77 county of Oklahoma, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The county has a population of 57491 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 68960, It is the 11th most populous county in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Its area is just over 590.99 sq mi (1530.66 sq km), of which, 562.91 square miles (1457.93 sq km) of it is land and 28.07 square miles (72.7 sq km) of it is water, making it Oklahoma's 13th smallest county by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 57491 residents, 21010 households, and 16698 families in the county. The population density was 102.1 people per square mile (39.42/kmē), making its Oklahoma's seventh most densely populated county. There were 23174 housing units at an average density of 41.2 per square mile (15.91/kmē). The average household size was 2.73 persons, and the average family size was 3.08 persons. The population's age distribution was 28.1% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 68960, The racial makeup of the county was 80.44% White, 4.33% Black or African American, 9.04% American Indian, 1.16% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 5.01% from two or more races.
