Virginia, is a state located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The state has a population of 7078515 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 7769089, It is 12th most populous in United States. It is spread over 42774.2 sq mi (110784.67 square kilometre), of which, 39594.07 square miles (102548.17 square kilometre ) of it is land and 3180.13 square miles (8236.5 square kilometre) of it is water, making it United States's 16th smallest by total area. It is ranks 15 in the size of its inland waterways in United States.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7078515 people in the state, organized into 2699173 households, and 1847796 families living in the state. The population density was 178.8 people per square mile (69.04/kmē), it would be the 14th most densely populated state in the U.S. state of America. There were 2904192 housing units at an average density of 73.3 per square mile (28.3/kmē). The average household size was 2.54 persons, and the average family size was 3.04 persons. Age range in the state was well distributed with 24.6% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 23% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.7 males. The median age was 35.7 years, the median age of male residents at 34.5 and the median age of female residents at 36.8. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the state is 7078515, The racial or ethnic makeup of the state was 72.33% White, 19.64% Black or African American, 0.3% American Indian, 3.69% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, 2.02% from two or more races and 1.96% Other races.

Of which, total enrollment of student are in, 125701 nursery or pri school, 101127 kindergarten, 806445 elementary school, 384028 high school and 450800 College graduate school.
