Vinton Town is a town in the Roanoke County, Virginia, United States. In 2000, the population was 7782. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 7868, giving it the 97th largest population among Virginia. It has total area of 3.17 mi˛ (8.21 square kilometre), making it the 177th largest by size in Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7782 people, 3327 households, and 2178 families residing in the town. The population density was 2451.4 people per square mile (946.49/km˛), it is Virginia's 62nd most densely populated town.
