Villa Hills City is one of the city of Kenton County, Kentucky, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 7948 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 7727, making it Kentucky's 58th largest. The city comprises an area of 4.45 square miles (11.53 sq km), of which, 3.71 square miles (9.61 sq km) of it is land and 0.75 square miles (1.94 sq km) of it is water, making it the 95th largest by size in Kentucky. It is ranks tenth in the size of its inland waterways in Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7948 people, 2808 households, and 2209 families residing in the city. The population density was 2144.3 people per square mile (827.92/kmē), giving it the 121st most densely populated city among the Kentucky. There were 2855 housing units at an average density of 769.5 per square mile (297.11/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.78 persons, and the average family size was 3.2 persons. In the Villa Hills City, 26.7% of the population was under the age of 18, 7.9% were 18 to 24, 26.3% were 25 to 44, 29.1% were 45 to 64, and 10% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males. The median age of the city's population was 39.2 years, The median age of males was 37.2 years, for females the median age was 40.6 years.
