The July 2008 population estimate is 2194, It is 288th most populous in Michigan. The city comprises an area of 1.89 sq mi (4.9 kmē), of which, 1.83 square miles (4.74 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, it is the 337th largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.
