Vernonia City is a city in the Columbia County, Oregon, United States. Vernonia City had an official population of 2228 in 2000. The July 2008 population estimate is 2275, making it Oregon's 133rd largest. The city comprises an area of 1.58 square miles (4.09 square kilometre), of which, 1.54 square miles (3.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 153rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Oregon.
