Vernal City is a United States city located in the Uintah County, Utah, United States. It is home to over 7714 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 8696, It is Utah's 53rd largest by population . It is spread over 4.58 square miles (11.86 sq km), it is the 146th largest by area in the U.S. state of Utah.
