Vermilion County, Illinois is a county of the United States of Illinois. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 83919 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 80680, It is Illinois's 21st most populous county. The county encompasses an area of 902.14 sq mi (2336.53 square kilometre ), of which, 899.08 square miles (2328.61 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.06 square miles (7.93 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the eighth largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.

As of July 2008, the estimated population was 80680, The racial makeup of the county was 69209 White, 9594 Black or African American, 200 American Indian, 532 Asian, 18 Native Hawaiian, and 1127 from two or more races.
