Ventura City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa is a city located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 670. In July 2008, its estimated population was 718, It is the 402nd most populous in the U.S. state of Iowa. The city comprises an area of 2.37 mi˛ (6.14 sq km), of which, 1.73 square miles (4.48 sq km) of it is land and 0.64 square miles (1.66 sq km) of it is water, it is the 157th largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is ranks 20 in the size of its inland waterways in Iowa.

As of the census of 2000, there were 670 people, 277 households, and 195 families living in the city. The population density was 387.4 people per square mile (149.58/km˛), it is the 225th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Iowa. There were 319 housing units at an average density of 184.4 per square mile (71.2/km˛). The average household size was 2.42 persons, and the average family size was 2.93 persons. The population's age distribution was 24.2% under the age of 18, 7% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.6 males. The median age was 41.2 years, the median age of male residents at 38.3 and the median age of female residents at 44.4. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 666 White, Black or African American, American Indian, 4 Asian, Native Hawaiian, from two or more races and Ohter races.
