Venice City is one of the city of Madison County, Illinois, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2528 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 2421, giving it the 455th largest population among Illinois. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.87 sq mi (4.84 kmē), it is the 471st largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
