Valley County is a county located in the United States of Montana. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Valley County is home to 7675 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 6892, It is the 29th largest in terms of population. It has total area of 5061.98 square miles (13110.47 square kilometre), of which, 4921 square miles (12745.33 square kilometre) of it is land and 140.98 square miles (365.14 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the fourth largest by size in Montana. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Montana.

In the county the population was spread out, with 25.1% under the age of 18, 6% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 25.6% from 45 to 64, and 19% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 101.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 105.1 females. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 6892, The racial makeup of the county was 86.16% White, 0.16% Black or African American, 11.16% American Indian, 0.33% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 2.18% from two or more races.
