Valley County, Idaho is a county of the United States of Idaho. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Valley County is home to 7651 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 8862, giving it the 29th largest population among Idaho's county. The county extends throughout a territory of 3733.66 mi˛ (9670.14 sq km ), of which, 3677.82 square miles (9525.51 sq km) of it is land and 55.84 square miles (144.62 sq km) of it is water, makes it the fifth largest by total area in Idaho. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7651 people in the county, organized into 3208 households, and 2251 families residing in the county. The population density was 2.1 people per square mile (0.81/km˛), making it the eighth least densely populated county in Idaho. There were 8084 housing units at an average density of 2.2 per square mile (0.85/km˛). The average household size was 2.36 persons, and the average family size was 2.81 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.7% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 32.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 105.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.4 males. Its population was estimated at 8862 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.13% White, 0.5% Black or African American, 0.76% American Indian, 0.28% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.28% from two or more races.
