For every 100 females there were 105.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.4 males. Its population was estimated at 8862 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.13% White, 0.5% Black or African American, 0.76% American Indian, 0.28% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.28% from two or more races.
