Valley City City is a city in the Barnes County, North Dakota, United States. As of 2000 the population was 6826. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 6230, It is the 13th most populous in the U.S. state of North Dakota. The city spans an area of 3.31 mi˛ (8.57 sq km), makes it the 29th largest by total area in North Dakota.
