Urbana City is a city in the Champaign County, Illinois, United States. The city has a population of 36395 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 39641, giving it the 47th largest population among Illinois. The city spans an area of 10.51 sq mi (27.22 sq km), of which, 10.49 square miles (27.17 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 67th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
