The county extends throughout a territory of 317.12 sq mi (821.34 kmē ), of which, 316.73 square miles (820.33 kmē) of it is land and 0.39 square miles (1.01 kmē) of it is water, it is the fourth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
