Union County is a county in the United States of Indiana. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 7349 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7157, It is the second smallest in terms of population. The county spans an area of 165.25 miē (428 kmē), of which, 161.55 square miles (418.41 kmē) of it is land and 3.7 square miles (9.58 kmē) of it is water, it is the third smallest in terms of geographical size.

According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 7157, The racial makeup of the county was 97.96% White, 0.89% Black or African American, 0.31% American Indian, 0.2% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.63% from two or more races.
