Unalaska City is one of the city of Aleutians West Census Area, Alaska, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 4283 as per the Census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 3532, It is Alaska's 21st largest by population . The city has a total area of 212.33 sq mi (549.93 sq km), of which, 111.02 square miles (287.54 sq km) of it is land and 101.31 square miles (262.39 sq km) of it is water, it is the 28th largest by area in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is ranks ninth in the size of its inland waterways in Alaska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4283 people in the city, organized into 834 households, and 476 families residing in the city. The population density was 38.6 people per square mile (14.9/kmē), it is the 113th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 988 housing units at an average density of 8.9 per square mile (3.44/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.27. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 14.6% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 50.9% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 1.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 194.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 218.7 males. The median age is 36.5 years, The median age of males and females living in Unalaska City was 37.1 and 35.1 years respectively. The racial makeup of the city was 1893 White, 157 Black or African American, 330 American Indian, 1312 Asian, 24 Native Hawaiian, 168 from two or more races and 399 Ohter races.
