Umatilla County, Oregon is a county of the United States of Oregon. It is home to over 70548 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 73526, It is the 14th largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 3231.25 mi˛ (8368.9 square kilometre), of which, 3215.26 square miles (8327.49 square kilometre) of it is land and 15.99 square miles (41.41 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Oregon's eighth largest county by total area.

In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 27.8% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 104.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.7 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 73526, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 68110 White, 876 Black or African American, 2618 American Indian, 668 Asian, 160 Native Hawaiian, and 1094 from two or more races.
