It is 356th most populous in Michigan. The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 2.9 sq mi (7.51 square kilometre ), of which, 2.38 square miles (6.16 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.52 square miles (1.35 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 249th largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.
