Turtle Lake City is a city located in the McLean County, North Dakota, United States. The city has a population of 580 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 502, making it the 94th most populous in North Dakota. The city spans an area of 0.52 sq mi (1.35 kmē), of which, 0.5 square miles (1.29 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, making it North Dakota's 189th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 580 people in the city, organized into 290 households, and 172 families residing in the city. The population density was 1154.2 people per square mile (445.64/kmē), making it the 64th most densely populated city in North Dakota. There were 329 housing units at an average density of 658 per square mile (254.06/kmē). The average household size was 1.97 and the average family size was 2.57.
