It is the 125th largest by population in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 2.28 miē (5.91 kmē ), of which, 1.98 square miles (5.13 kmē) of it is land and 0.29 square miles (0.75 kmē) of it is water, making it Massachusetts's 51st smallest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4441 residents, 1995 households, and 1154 families in the census designated place.
