Tulsa County is a county located in the United States of Oklahoma. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 563299 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 591982, It is the second largest county by population in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The county extends throughout a territory of 587.02 square miles (1520.37 sq km ), of which, 570.3 square miles (1477.07 sq km) of it is land and 16.72 square miles (43.3 sq km) of it is water, making it the 12th smallest by size in Oklahoma.

The population density was 987.7 people per square mile (381.35/kmē), it is the most populated county in terms of population density. There were 243953 housing units at an average density of 427.8 per square mile (165.17/kmē). The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 3.03. The population's age distribution was 26.3% under the age of 18, 10% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.9 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 591982, The racial makeup of the county was 77.64% White, 11.63% Black or African American, 5.13% American Indian, 2.02% Asian, 0.12% Native Hawaiian, and 3.48% from two or more races.
