Tulare County is a county located in the United States of California. In 2000, the population was 368021. In July 2008, its estimated population was 426276, It is the 18th largest county by population in the U.S. state of California. It covers total area of 4839.09 sq mi (12533.19 square kilometre), of which, 4823.97 square miles (12494.02 square kilometre) of it is land and 15.12 square miles (39.16 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the seventh largest by size in California.

The population density was 76.3 people per square mile (29.46/kmē), making it the 33rd most densely populated county in California. Age range in the county was well distributed with 33.8% under the age of 18, 10.6% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.7 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 426276, The racial makeup of the county was 386421 White, 8842 Black or African American, 8183 American Indian, 14770 Asian, 829 Native Hawaiian, and 7231 from two or more races.
