Tucker County is a United States county located in the United States of West Virginia. In 2000, county's population was 7321 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 6877, making it the third least populous county in West Virginia. The county comprises an area of 421.11 sq mi (1090.67 kmē), of which, 418.87 square miles (1084.87 kmē) of it is land and 2.24 square miles (5.8 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 27th largest by total area in West Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7321 people, 3052 households, and 2121 families living in the county. The population density was 17.5 people per square mile (6.76/kmē), it would be the fourth least densely populated county in the U.S. state of West Virginia. There were 4634 housing units at an average density of 11.1 per square mile (4.29/kmē). The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.84. In the county the population was spread out, with 21.3% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 27.7% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 105.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106.3 females. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 6877, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 98.82% White, 0.12% Black or African American, 0.2% American Indian, 0.01% Asian, 0.12% Native Hawaiian, and 0.73% from two or more races.
