Troy City is a city located in the Oakland County, Michigan, United States. In 2000, the population was 80959. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 80264, It is the 13th largest by population in the U.S. state of Michigan. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 33.64 sq mi (87.13 sq km), of which, 33.54 square miles (86.87 sq km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 sq km) of it is water, it is the 16th largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 80959 people, 30018 households, and 21874 families living in the city. The population density was 2413.9 people per square mile (932.01/kmē), it is 113th most densely populated city in Michigan. The racial makeup of the city was 82.3% White, 2.09% Black or African American, 0.15% American Indian, 13.25% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, 1.82% from two or more races and 0.36% Other races.
