Its population was estimated at 7455 in July 2008, making it the 328th most populous in Florida. It covers total area of 5.32 mi˛ (13.78 square kilometre), of which, 1.59 square miles (4.12 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.73 square miles (9.66 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 320th largest in terms of geographical size.
