Treasure County is a county located in Montana, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. Treasure County had an official population of 861 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 637, giving it the second smallest population among Montana's county. The county spans an area of 984.11 sq mi (2548.83 square kilometre), of which, 978.86 square miles (2535.24 square kilometre) of it is land and 5.24 square miles (13.57 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fourth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Montana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 861 residents, 357 households, and 242 families in the county. The population density was 0.9 people per square mile (0.35/kmē), it is the ninth least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Montana. There were 422 housing units at an average density of 0.4 per square mile (0.15/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.41 persons, and the average family size was 2.98 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 27.8% under the age of 18, 5% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 27.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 104 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.9 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 637, The racial makeup of the county was 96.39% White, 0.16% Black or African American, 2.51% American Indian, 0.47% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.47% from two or more races.
